Reporting Options

You are here

Lehigh University strongly encourages faculty, staff, and students who experience or witness harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or sexual misconduct to promptly report such conduct so that the conduct can be addressed and resources provided.

If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or sexual misconduct, there are several options available to you.  You are not required to file reports with or contact all of the entities below in order to receive medical and/or academic support and any other support.

You may file a complaint with both the police and the University.  Filing a report with the police is a separate process from pursuing a complaint through the University policies and procedures.

Filing a Report With Law Enforcement:

If you feel unsafe, have experienced or witnessed harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or sexual misconduct, or would like to file a report with the police, please contact:

Lehigh University Police Department
321 E. Packer Avenue
Bethlehem, PA 18015
610-758-4200

The Lehigh University Police Department ("LUPD") is available 24/7 throughout the year.  If a report is filed, the police will take appropriate steps in response to the report.

Filing a Complaint With the University:

All reports or complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct should be made by contacting the Equal Opportunity Compliance Coordinator, Karen Salvemini.  Ms. Salvemini will discuss the situation and possible supportive measures with you, as well as explain the University's policies and procedures and available on and off campus resources.  You are also welcome to ask any questions that you may have regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct.  Ms. Salvemini can be contacted at:

Karen A. Salvemini, Esq.
Equal Opportunity Compliance Coordinator / Title IX Coordinator
Alumni Memorial Building
27 Memorial Drive West
Bethlehem, PA 18015
610-758-3535

In the event that the conduct involves the Equal Opportunity Compliance Coordinator / Title IX Coordinator, reports should be made to:

Other Reporting Options

Matters of Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation, or Bias:

You may also file a complaint about discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or bias by completing the online Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation or Bias Incident Reporting Form at lehigh.edu/go/harassment.  The submission of an anonymous complaint may limit the University's ability to investigate and respond to the complaint.

Matters of Sexual Misconduct:

You may also file a complaint about sexual misconduct simultaneously with both the Lehigh University Police Department and Title IX Coordinator by completing the online Sexual Misconduct Title IX Reporting Form.  The submission of an anonymous complaint may limit the University's ability to investigate and respond to the complaint.

Students may also contact the Survivor Support Advocates Program ("Advocates"), a network of dedicated and compassionate staff members who are trained to assist survivors of sexual misconduct and sexual violence.  They provide initial support and referrals to survivors and are available 24/7 throughout the year.
